20 Week Ultra Sound
"Father to Be's Log...Stardate, March 18th, 2011."
My child's host (Jamie) and I went in to get a closer look of the spawn quickly growing inside of Jamie's body. While we ruled out the chance of twins, to this day we are still unsure of the sex of the next Heir to the Pinkey throne (by choice). In-utero, this creature seems to be very happy and active, as it appeared to be dancing as if it had chem-lites at an all night rave. Then, almost immediately, the baby fell asleep, and stopped moving. This caused us all to laugh, although it raised concerns of birthing a narcoleptic child. This could be trouble when the child becomes 16 and has a license...
Further examination of this life form revealed that one foot contained 5 toes, which was good. We pray that the baby is symmetrical, except for the heart, which we confirmed there is only one, which is also ok with us. Furthermore, the heartbeat was approximately 154 beats per minute, which leads me to believe that either the tiny heart is busy pumping blood in the developing body, or, that we are creating a tiny workaholic who is no stranger to 80 hour work weeks. This is a good thing, as I have many chores around the house that will need tending too upon delivery day. Assuming the background check and citizenship tests clear, I expect to employ this new Pinkey immediately upon delivery.
The host herself seems to be doing well, all things considered. Although her ankles appear to have taken the form of tree stumps, which we now refer to as theighnkles (she no longer has calves, and we still cannot identify the anomaly known as the theigh-ankle junction), she is waddling along just fine. Moving distally to Jamie's toes, her ever changing body has grabbed the attention of our dog George, who constantly licks her her toes which he swears are tiny Vienna Sausages. This tickles Jamie, which in turn, we feel, provides humor for the developing baby.
Unfortunately, the spawn has now severely limited Jamie's ability to perform basic tasks, such as tying her shoes, household chores, and staying awake past 7pm (local). Moreover, the spawn has appeared to have overtaken her olfactory perception and willingness to grocery shop, as Jamie has tried over 6 new types of ice cream, 5 different "Big G" Cereals (all of which contain enough sugar to kill a small pony), as well 4 different types of brownies, all of which contain peanut butter. In turn, this system override by the spawn has also had an effect on our washer and dryer machines, for while I still claim to have a 32" waistline, all of my trousers appear to be rapidly shrinking. When the spawn is delivered, I hope it has a technical background and can reset the changes it has placed on our household appliances...
Moving forward, we continue to monitor the heartbeat, observe fetal movements, and track Jamie's ever expanding belly via time elapsed photography .

Baby stroller: $229, Baby furniture: $600, Taking your husband to register for baby stuff: PRICELESS
Sunday, Josh and I went to babies r us to start our registry. Josh was a "little out of control". It all started when we sat down to give them our information and he started saying out loud "I know this isn't my baby and all but I will still support you wife", "I sure hope that guys pays us child support". EMBARRASSING!!!
I thought I got him under control until we went to the feeding section and next thing I know he is telling me to take a picture. When I turned around he had his shirt pulled up and had a breast pump up to this nipple. I thought I was going to die; That or get kicked out of the store before even putting one item on our registry. I finally took the picture and we were able to spend the next 3 hours walking around babies r us scanning everything we thought we would need for Wee Little Pinkey.

Those first movements
Last week while in michaels arts and craft store I was startled when I felt something "bug like" on my belly! I quickly realized it was the "flutter" feeling you first feel of your baby! I was so excited to finally get to feel our Wee little Pinkey squirm around! Ever since then I feel those little flutters everyday! Yestrday while teaching order of operation to my fifth graders I started laughing for no reason because the baby was moving so much that it tickled! :) my students thought that was the coolest thing! Josh has not been able to feel it yet, even though we have tried several times! Hopefully we will feel something soon from the outside so he can experience our wee little Pinkry squirm around!
Everything about this pregnancy has been absolutely amazing! I love everything I have experienced so far and look forward to the next 22 weeks and everything else there is to experience!

Seventeen Week
The past few weeks have been crazy busy but very exciting when it comes to our Wee Little Pinkey. We had our sixteen week doctors appointment Monday and everything went very well. The babies heartbeat is in the 120's. While we aren't going to find out, we did ask the doctor what she thought, and she said she would bet a little boy, but in the same breath she said she has delivered girls with a heartbeat in the 120's. I have been feeling a little boy though since the beginning but we won't know for sure until August! :)
Valentines day we bought our Wee Little Pinkey his/her furniture. Babies R Us was having an awesome sale and we couldn't resist. We bought a convertible crib, dresser, changing table, glider, and ottoman.

Week 13 and the End of the First Trimester
WOW! I can't believe it has been 12 weeks since Josh and I found out we were going to have a new addition to our family in August. The morning sickness is finally over and I am starting to get my energy back (at least Monday through Friday haha).
Wee Little Pinkey is about three inches long, close to the size of a peach. He/she is growing very rapidly right now, and its body is trying to catch up with its head in terms of size. Baby's intestines are also in for some big changes right now. They are moving to their permanent address inside the abdomen. His/her vocal cords are developing this week. We will not be able to hear anything now, but don't worry when baby is born those chords will get a good workout. Hopefully from laughing and not crying ;)

One of the Many Amazing things that comes with the joy of having a baby!
On Tuesday Josh and I went to the doctors for the second time. This was a "big" appointment because we were going to hear the heart beat for the first time. As I laid down on the table I didn't know what to imagine. Words can not describe what I felt when I heard our Wee Little Pinkey's heart beat for the first time. I looked at Josh's face and he had the biggest grin from ear to ear. I wish I had one of the machines they use so I could hear the heart beat every day!
The doctor said the heart beat was very fast and very good!!!
Everyone tells you what an amazing feeling you will have once you are pregnant but I never imagined it would be like this. All the morning sickness and tiredness is all worth it when you get to hear that little heart beat and knowing that a little baby is growing every day into an amazing human being.

Baby's First Shopping Trip
My mom and dad came up to Virginia Beach this weekend to go to see Blue Man group, which was amazing for those of you who haven't seen it, I definitely recommend going. Today my mom took me to motherhood to buy a few outfits. While we were waiting for the store to open we walked through Macy's just to "waste time". That was until we cane across the baby section and saw all the awesome deals they had on baby outfits. My mom got "Wee Little Pinkey" four different outfits (neutral styles) that were too cute to pass up and I got baby three different outfits, one of which was a yellow terrycloth bath robe. This baby is going to be the best dressed baby in town!!!
Week 12
Last Week of the First Trimester and I think the morning sickness if finally over if I could just get my energy back. We have a doctors appointment Tuesday where hopefully we will hear Wee Little Pinkey's heart beat.
This week the baby is almost fully formed and is about 2.5 inches long weight half an ounce; the size of a large plum. He/she will soon begin to open and close its hands into fists and tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under the games. Some of the bones throughout the body are beginning to harden. Baby is very busy kicking and stretching (mom still can't feel any movements yet), and these tiny movements are so effortless that it looks like water ballet. The diaphragm has formed which is causing baby to hiccup which mom won't notice for a few more months.

I couldn't resist!
Josh and I have decided that because there are so many few surprises in life we are not going to find out the sex of Wee Little Pinkey. While this is going to be hard because we won't be able to buy "Boy" or "Girl" clothes it is going to be all worth it in the end. Anyways, I heard all they wear at the beginning is onesie's anyways and I am counting on Mimi and Aunt Catherine to buy him/her very stylish clothes.
I did however buy Wee Little Pinkey's "Going Home From the Hospital" outfit Friday. I have seen this onesie for the past year and it has to be one of the cutest things ever and I couldn't resist buying it. :) I am sure the "Going Home From the Hospital" outfit will change between now and then but it was the only way I could convince myself that it was okay to buy it! :)

Week 11
Wee little Pinkey has completed the most critical part of development. He/She is about the size of a lime. Fingernails and toenails are growing this week as well as peach fuzz hair. Baby is starting to swallow fluids and is kicking up a storm (mom still can't feel though). Baby can now bend his or her hands at the wrist and meet over the heard and the feet may be long enough to meet in front of the body. The outline of the spine is clearly visible and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from the spinal cord. Our baby's forehead temporarily bulges with his or her developing brain and sits very high on the head. The head measures half the length of his or her body. From that genius brain to baby's rump, baby is about 1 1/4 inches long and will nearly double in size this week.
This week, Daddy took pictures of mommy's bump but mom can't find her cord to upload them to the computer. As soon as she finds her cord you will begin to see pictures of me.
