Week 10

Baby Pinkey is about an inch long and weighs a fraction of an ounce.  He/She is about the size of a prune, but not as shriveled and is beginning to look more and more human.  All of its essential body parts are accounted for and its heart is finishing dividing into four chambers and the valves are starting to form.  The tooth bud fairy is making its appearance this week, heralding the arrival of the baby's little choppers under the gums.  Baby's arms and legs are taking shape and getting stronger, but each one is only about the size of this number 1 (Pretty amazing HUH?)    If our baby is a little boy he is already producing testosterone (Josh was a fan of this one :) )

Merry Christmas

The day after Christmas Josh and I drove up to Pittsburgh to meet my family so we could share our news.  When we left Virginia Beach it was snowing really hard and there was already 6 inches of snow on the ground but it was all worth it to see the look on my family's face when we told them the news. 
How did we do it??  Josh and I bought my mom a onesie that said, "Grandma's little Christmas present" my dad a onesie that said, "I'd rather be riding with grandpa" with a motorcycle on the front, and my sister a onesie that said, "If you think I'm cute you should see my aunt" and they were told to open their gifts all at the same time.  Needless to say everyone was very excited.

Week 9

This week baby Pinkey has ended his/her embryonic stage and is entering the fetal period now.  He/she is about one ince long, the size of a medium green olive.  Baby's head is straightening out and is more fully developed.  The ears are much more prominent and some new organs are fomring (the liver, spleen, and gallbladder).  Baby Pinkey is making spontaneous movements (even though Momma won't feel it for at least two more months) or his/her arms and legs.

December 23rd--It's Official!

We went to the doctors on December 23rd, and our pregnancy was confirmed.  Baby Pinkey is 8 weeks old, and His/Her heart beat is 154 beats for minutes.  The doctor said everything looks great and Momma looks great too. 

We are both very excited for this wonderful Christmas present and can not wait to see the Wodey's on December 26th and tell them they are going to have a grand-baby.
